This is what MRRForums is going to be about: Many of the Internet-based model railroad forums frown upon, or flat out don’t allow manufacturers to announce or promote their products. They feel that this is spam, and interferes with the day-to-day chit-chat that takes place on these forums. What they fail to understand is that 80-percent of the manufacturers in our hobby are one-person businesses, and in this economy, it’s harder and harder to stay in business. After years of being a member of some of these forums, and seeing the ever-increasing rules and restrictions, I’ve finally said "enough." The Model Railroad Forums, www.mrrforums.com, is dedicated to modelers and manufacturers who want to share ideas, as well as find out about new products. If you have a new product, or one that you think our members might be interested in, we want to know about it. In order for this forum to be a success, I need your help though. I am willing to create a unique thread for your business if you would agree to place a reciprocal link for my forum on your website. This will provide you with a place to make product announcements, post photos, and field questions and get feedback from forum members. Find Banners to promote our site here! Also, if you would be willing to help us promote the site even further by offering MRRForum members a discount on your products or shipping, I’ll create a revolving banner ad for you at no cost that will be featured prominently on the site. As an incentive to get things going, I'm going to have a small craftsman kit created. I will be giving this away to the first 100 or so members. Then, at regular intervals, I hope to reward our members further for reaching certain milestones, such as their 500th post. Hopefully the manufacturers who take part in this site will help too. I am currently in the final processes of creating the Model Railroad Forums. I'm in the process of a soft opening, but expect to be fully operational in the next few weeks. We are actively and aggressively seeking members from our large lists of contacts and clients in the hobby. We have every reason to believe this forum will be a huge success. If you like to be a part of this forum, please contact me at your earliest convenience, so that I can get you set up. I’m also more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks, and see you online! Jimmy Deignan The Model Railroad Forums |
