Good Morning...
I've been gone all week in amazing Colorado and I've got the SBG coming by on Saturday morning - I better get to work.
Colorado is like being in a 1:1 layout with dramatic features. The sky looked fake, solid blue with no clouds. The mountains were overly dramatized like giant shark's teeth. There were "trainy" features everywhere - old mines, including the famous Argo mine I've seen modeled in the Gazette numerous times along a main highway, lots of heavy modern traffic. We visited the Colorado Railroad Museum which featured multiple geared locos, galloping geese, a large HO club layout, etc. Around the corner from our condo there was a rotary snowplow and a tiny steamer parked on the side of a residential road. I also made a quick trek to Caboose Hobbies while in Denver. I was able to do all of this without the family even realizing this was a train-related trip!!
Also managed to survive snowboarding, dogsledding, snowmobiling, tubing and all the other stuff meant to kill Floridians!
Glad to be back...John
