Friday 13th...I'm not afraid

Postby MASSIVERALPH » Fri Apr 13, 2012 4:12 am

Up an at em this AM. Off to the office. I should get there by 6:30 and work till ? I'm not afraid of the 13th. Snap my house number is 13! Now I am afraid of some of the characters that have come to visit the LVRR. Chip was very scary. :D :ymdevil: I hope to be in a position to take tomorrow off to see my son wrestle in a match. Sunday will be a day at the office, heck I might be working all weekend. Lots of pressure, but soon it will end, and the money that comes with it. Enjoy Timonium. I won't get back there until the fall.

Mornin All

Some number 13 facts??? (superstitions???)

More than 80 percent of high-rises lack a 13th floor.
Many airports skip the 13th gate.
Airplanes have no 13th aisle.
Hospitals and hotels regularly have no room number 13.
Italians omit the number 13 from their national lottery.
On streets in Florence, Italy, the house between number 12 and 14 is addressed as 12 and a half.
Many cities do not have a 13th Street or a 13th Avenue
In France, socialites known as the quatorziens (fourteeners) once made themselves available as 14th guests to keep a dinner party from an unlucky fate.
Many triskaidekaphobes, as those who fear the unlucky integer are known, point to the ill-fated mission to the moon, Apollo 13.
If you have 13 letters in your name, you will have the devil's luck . Jack the Ripper, Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, Theodore Bundy and Albert De Salvo all have 13 letters in their names.

BUT, there was a Fine Scale Miniature's Jewel Series #13 Oatman's Mercantile. At least George wasn't superstitious.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY GOOD FRIEND LARRY BAKER!

I'm scared. If I don't sell $40,000 in product this weekend in Timonium I won't be able to take the rest of the year off. I am hopeful. I'll have the new Irish Rose Antique kit. ($39)
It's supposed to be a fantastic weekend here in the northeast. I'm looking forward to spending it in a tin roofed building that is named after the smell that often lingers "The Cow Palace"

It's all about the good friends and good times. Stop by and say hello.

I'm not stupidstitious. I had no idea today was Friday the 13th until I read this thread.

Maybe there will be $13 FSM kits at Timonium this weekend.

Above you see Carolina Craftsman Kits' Lock House. I hope to finish it this weekend. Buy one from Jeff Grove in Timonium this weekend. He needs to send in his share of the $40,000 Jimmy needs.

Happy Friday everyone and happy birthday to the birthday boy.

Looking forward to the weekend. Just need to survive another day in the cube farm.

Have a great one!

Good morning everyone!

I ordered L Baker's Produce from Doug to get my free kit. I assume this is named after the same person?

When will the kit be on the website Jimmy? I wonder if it will be a "challenge" to get... ;)

Did a bit of work on the foundation for OH Wrights last night. You can view it here. http://www.kitforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6910

Stop in and tell me what you think.

Time for a smoke before starting on the real job. TGIF!!! :D

I was rooting around and found a DVD with no label on it. I booted it up and it contained about 80 images of the F&SM. I had shot the photos for a MR article about 10 years ago.
A photo similar to this one appeared in the magazine. I'm sure George has made a lot of changes since this picture was shot. Also, in the lower right is the station that Karl S. (the guy with the frog avatar) made a great copy of.

The EXPO module standards are finished and now in the hands of our fearless leader. Maybe he's already posted them. I've started building my module and I hope to share a few photos as I go.

That's it. I'm off to the club to prepare more food for tomorrow. Yesterday we made venison sausage, chili, and a meat stew. We also hand cut about 100 pounds of potatoes for French fries.
