Fabulous build Mark!! Very impressive layout and planning made this a masterpiece. I really like the cascade effect down the hill side. As with all your builds, there is a lot of art put into the initial layout and it pays off.

Cheers!

Thanks so much Darryl and Craig.

I do love working with multiple levels, steep terrain and curves. They force you to either scratchbuild of do extreme kitbashing or kitmingling, and the result is far more likely to be unique. Of course this build is highly influenced by Bob Van Galder's SRM's 'Tap and Die' structure (based on an actual structure in Conway Mass.), but even so, a number of changes were made including the addition of the outside stairway. I'm looking foward to attaching this one to the real diorama base complete with sluice gates, a rail and road bridge, river and waterfall and doing all the scenicing necessary to finish it off. It may be some time away though, as I have a multitude of other projects on the go!

Time to get back to the Aerated water build! (and then my Fanny Schwahnn's Confectionary build!) {and then my Hermanson's mill kitbash!} [and then...!]

Cheers, Mark.

Hi Guys.

Just a quick note. I have just returned from the NZAMRC Wellington convention 2012. I had a great time and saw some great layouts including Allen Hare's 'Black Stag Lumber Company' layout which was featured in the May 2010 issue of MRR magazine. It's the first time I have seen a completed layout with hundreds of craftsman kits and scratch built structures in the flesh.

My Tap and Die scrap box challenge was entered in the structure section of the competition, and I was chuffed to achieve a 'gold award' with a score a little below 82%.

Thanks for watching my build of this project. I have enjoyed it emensely, and thought some of you might be interested in how I got on.

Cheers, Mark.
