Hi Tom:

I built one of those years ago. I still have it. I never counted the pieces though. I can tell you it was not an easy build. All those windows had to be built up individually. I still have it. I will psot a photo this evening. Great job.

Hi Norm:

Thaks for the compliment. You can only get into the league is you jump in with both feet. Scratch building is easier. No instructions.

Thanks!! One thing I wanted to do with this was show how easy scratchbuilding can be, to motivate others to try it.

The whole HOn30 spur is now mounted on a sheet of styrene, so I can remove it from the layout and work on it at the workbench. I bought some of the Tam Valley Depot servo motor switch machines and other electronic goodies, which I'll install and -maybe- actually get that little HOn30 switcher to run back and forth on the spur.

I also "owe" Craig Bisgeier a scratchbuilt structure for the Houstatonic. But since I have shoulder surgery coming up after Thanksgiving, I'll probably be unable to model for a couple of months this winter.

Very impressive build as always Tom. Does that 31 years include your Diet Pepsi breaks? If not, it could take significantly longer.....

Hehe

Anyway, I love that staircase. I suspect that was a very difficult item to build with all the parts that had to be cut for it. I've always had trouble cutting the stringers for the wooden staircases that I've built in the past. It seems the wood always breaks on me due to the small size. Any suggestions on how to do those for future reference?
