I did a build of this kit a while back, but can no longer find the post (Jimmy's archived in cyberspace somewhere). Any way, yours is a nice clean build and I agree with you on the steps. If I remember correctly, I did the same as you. I changed the signage to reflect my Grandfather's business which drove him to his grave and I didn't want to do a grave yard or mortuary :))

Thanks David. I like your extra "stuff" around. Mine is too clean as is, but that's another thing I haven't done YET. Weathering and "stuff".

It looks beautiful !!!! Are there any roof details ?

A paper's weight can get confusing. Read this: http://www.printoutlet.us/stockweight.php

Very nice Randy!

All of a sudden I have spray booth envy. I like those aluminum tubes. They are very 1950s space robot like. Way cool signs.

This is a really neat kit inspired by the F&SM. I like it!

Randy,
I've found that simple is better, i.e., too much clutter on roof can distract. So, to that end, I make sure all my roofs have a chimney, bathroom vents (guided by the number of bathrooms structure has), a roof access (square object on roof - usually a piece of .015 plastic with overlapping roofing paper - chimneys based on number of furnaces/fireplaces and a few seems on the rolled roofing. I avoid "patches" on roofs for main structures unless the landlord is a real turkey.

Randy,

It looks great :-bd ! Pleasant colors. There is not much to criticize - perhaps only corbel slots, letter H and wood color foundation in the back.

I built Saulena's about 9 months ago and I don't remember fat stringers. Although it came in the same clear acrylic box it must have been updated version.

Thanks David, will keep that in mind. Winter is here and lots of time to add extra "stuff".

I lost three corbels some how, tried to make some new using the carriers where the old ones came out. No luck. Also tried to patch the corbel holes. Will take care of the H and the foundation paint later.

Randy,

I covered mine with "tarpaper". I mean corbel slots and letters.

If you own scanner you can scan carrier sheet and use it as template for cutting out missing corbels. Or use copy machine.
