I covered mine with "tarpaper". I mean corbel slots and letters.

If you own scanner you can scan carrier sheet and use it as template for cutting out missing corbels. Or use copy machine.

Omgosh...what a great idea. Shoulda thunk of it myself. Thanks!

Great build.
Just one nit to pick. If I'd plied some young beauty with spirits and we finally put our $2.00 on the bar, we'd dash to the top of the stairs you built so beautifully and find.... there's no way to open the darn door! Hope the meter ain't running while we try to come up with an alternative plan. Of course, at my age, once we got the proprietors attention and his solution, I'd proably have forgotten what we went up for in the first place. :((

All of a sudden I have spray booth envy. I like those aluminum tubes. They are very 1950s space robot like. Way cool signs.

This is a really neat kit inspired by the F&SM. I like it!

Well, Jaime, you had something to do with it too. The aluminum tubes remind me of a robot costume I made for one of my kids one year for Halloween. Don't remember WHICH kid, but it was fun. Robbie the Robot was in lot of great B movies in the 50's and 60's.

I can't make up my mind whether the "lady" is cheap or expensive :)) , but I do need door knobs for the front door and the upstairs door. Don't even mention that there is no downstairs exit to satisfy the Fire Marshal. So, suggestions for the door knobs needed.

Thanks on the colors. I'm home now, so the colors were Americana Slate Green, and trim was Apple Barrel Pewter Grey.

These next signs were the easiest and I got the best results. I went to Plaza Art supply store in Fairfax on Friday afternoon, and picked up a tablet of Strathmore "ink friendly" Vellum type paper which is REALLY thin, and is "13.5 pounds".
From the back after printing. No sanding needed!

The completed Tavern next!

The paper is Strathmore MARKER, smooth surface, "Accepts coverage of felt tip markers without bleeding. Colors flow smoothly. Surface retains the true color of the marker. Fine lines will hold a sharp edge." 9x12, 50 sheets, 13.5 lb, stock number 597-9.

Micro-beads. You can find them in the scrap-booking section of Michaels. They cost a couple of bucks for a tube that will last a lifetime. Or stop by my tables at Timonium this February and I'll give you a baggie of micro-beads to get you started.

hmmm, I looked at Michael's for something suitable but missed the tubes. I will take you up on your offer at Timonium. See ya then.

I would put a fire escape between those two windows on the second floor. I think a Tichy Train Group fire escape would be perfect.
