Winchendon Machine Shop is looking great!
I can't believe the detail you're putting into it! :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :-bd :-bd

I don't know about high class machine shops, but Herby Proutt (sorry I don't have any pictures of this hill coutry place)
stored his metal outside on racks. Sure it got rusty, but he could still make anything out of nothing,

You're the proprietor of this machine shop, so you can store materials whereever you feel like! :)) :)) :))
Machining the rust off isn't a big deal!

I bought a new machine tool at Timonium and painted it up tonight:

I also got some sort of steam safety valve that I'll probably put on the boiler tomorrow.

A "little" bit? They look excellent Dave! So how do you like the Wichendon kit overall? I was thinking of picking one up for my future HO layout. I'm still a novice at builditg kits. It looks like there's alot going on to build that kit.

The Wichendon kit is nice, but see my build thread over at RR-Line for some hiccups I had with the basic structure. I'm going for the Full Monty, doing the interior. I would not recommend that for a newbie.

The Wichendon instructions are OK, but not really as comprehensive as FSM, Barr Mills or FOS kits. If you're not comfortable tackling and working through a rather complex kit at this point, I'd suggest going for a FOS or Bar Mills kit first.

Thanks for the advice Dave. I've built one O gage BarMills, and a couple of Jimmy's and Doug's HO kits, but haven't tackled anything complicated. I think I'll hone my building & painting skills a bit more before taking on this one.
