Clever Models Kit bash for July contest

Postby clevermod01 » Thu Jun 09, 2011 3:38 pm

Actually for the remainder of this month and July.

We (Clever models)are asking any interested modelers to create a Kit Bash using Clever models parts. The models will be judged using craftsmanship and creativity as the guide line. A really creative model will win out over a perfect craftsman build but if there are 2 really creative models the better crafted build will be the deciding factor.

The prize will be a custom kit designed for and bearing the winners name.

Photographs and a written description of the process must be turned in by no later then AUGUST 1st.

Entrants may be sent in before that time but will not be posted until after the close date.
Last time we did this we had a great time and saw some fantastic builds.
Have fun and blow the doors off.

Scratch build contest entries are starting to come in

Postby clevermod01 » Mon Jul 11, 2011 12:48 pm

I wasn't expecting to see models for another week or two. Model railroaders are great procrastinators. But they are and the results are looking great. Keep building, plenty of time left but the bar is already high.

As a reminder, first place receives a custom designed kit named for the winner. it will then be added to our line to immortalize the winners creativity and drive.

As usual Thom, another great offering. Now I've just gotta see if it'll fit into my 1920 time period.

My unofficial entry in your contest is the little building next to the shingled shack. All made from Clever paper with wood strip trim. From 24" you can't tell what's it's made from.

Now is a great time to get into the custom building and kit-making business. It seems like everyone has a laser but only a few are doing really quality work - the more people who know about you and your work, the more customers you'll get. I wish you well and will be happy to provide referrals.

Thanks Dave, Always love seeing how you use our paper right along side everything else. nothing could make a clearer statement about card stock as a material.
I'm looking forward to sharing pix of all the entries. Not a lot but all of them 1st class.
