I updated the website and got some more kits together. The Passenger Coach and Flat Cars are still available and now I've put together the Boxcar (vertical and horizontal siding) and the Reefer.

I just received my copy of Slim Gauge Cars, 2nd Edition from Carstens.
Chris Lane has really improved the book and the 128 pages have a lot of new photos and dimensions.
The information in this book is a must for any modeler wanting to improve any of our kits with additional details or modify them to fit a different gauge.

After briefing through the book, I realize that our Narrow Flatcar is perfect for the Maine 2 footers. Dave Frary's drawing in the book is a fine example.
Any of our kits can be combined to make a model for your railroad. You can use the narrow flatcar frame with boxcar or reefer sides and end up with an On2 car.
We will make up any kit with the components you want. Contact me through the website with your wants and I'll provide you with a fair cost.

I finished updating the website with new info. Received the latest cut parts for the boxcars and have packaged some kits up.
Also available BVM trucks and Kadee couplers if you buy a kit(s).

Its been 5 months since the last update. I've been working on new cars and updating the website. Problems with the laser cutter guy has delayed the stock car but I finished up the Gondola.
This is based on the Bridgton and Saco River 10T gondola. Kit comes with the Grandt Line and Tichy parts as shown. The frame is a center beam type with a pair of truss rods. Side boards are actual pine boarding.

Website has been updated and this car is $19, which includes free shipping to the US (all 50 and territories) by 1st class mail. Overseas is at a very reasonable cost.

The re-release of the stock car is ready and available on the website http://www.on30ima.com
There have been a lot of requests for this car so I'm hoping I have enough on hand to get this rolling again. :D

I've got all the kits packaged and ready for Springfield. Any On30 modelers looking for a nice kit with an affordable price, stop by the Minuteman Scale Models booth.
Shawn of Minuteman will have the kits on sale and I only hope I packed enough of them.
Maybe I'll see you there, I know Jimmy will be rolling around somewhere. :))

On30 IMA Scratch Kits

Postby mabloodhound » Wed Feb 15, 2012 11:14 am

I finally finished up my build of the Boxcar kit. This is the easier vertical siding version.
The outside braced, horizontal siding requires adding all the bracing to the sides and ends.

I've been using the previ9ous owner's photos and info on the website up until now.
I took photos along the way and now can update the instruction sheet.

Very nice looking kit. I've only done one On30 kit but know the time will come when the bug gets me. Great work and thanks for the effort making kits for the builder.

The Hopper car is flying out the door. No advertising yet and modelers are taking to it just from the website.
I'm pleased with how it came out.
The Shapeways ratchet and pawls really came out good and is the signature item for this car.
Based on the ET&WNCRR hopper, but shorter for the On30 modeler. Also would work well for On3.
