Tap and Die Scrapbox challenge

I've used the same technique as Mark on most of my stone structures. The only thing I'd suggest is using gouache washes if you need to add more color to the mortar. Gouache is basically watercolors with some marble dust added to make them more opaque. Since they're watercolors, you can wash them off if you don't like the effect. But you'll want to seal anything you paint with gouache before you do water-soluable scenery techniques near these buildings. You can get cheap gouache sets at craft stores, a good thing for a 40% off coupon :-)

Hi Guys.

Well I got back to this one after needing a break from Fanny Schwahns confectionery.

Here's some pics.

Still some more tar paper roofing to finish, a covered deck at the other end of the structure, some steps and a runway off the downstairs door (leading to the sluice gate), smoke stack and other details, sinage and weathering.

Hope you all have a fantastic 2012!
Cheers, Mark.

That building complex reminds me of the old, Dickinson Witch Hazel buildings in Essex Connecticut. It had railcar sidings too.

Mark,

Beautiful work as usual. Fantastic work on the structure and the start of the scenery around it.

Great job there my friend. :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
