Trouble with e-mails is they can disappear even though your service provider says they did!!!!!!!!!! Not to get too far off topic but be secure out there people malware protection only goes so far, if you can see this, you can be attacked so be careful, even on friendly sites!

Re: Customer Service...

I've had a couple of missing things, but all have turned out good so far. I had a wall that was broken in a Walthers craftsman kit I received that my wife gave me. She emailed them with the order # and after giving them the part # off the kit, they mailed it right out.
The one that amazed me the most was from N Scale Architect. I had won a Waterville Freight House kit off ebay. The kit arrived and was still sealed, but was missing the plastic roofing sheet. I contacted them (as it wasn't really the sellers fault) and explained that I had bought the kit off an auction site. I really wasn't expecting to get the roof as I didn't buy the kit from them or a dealer, I just wanted them to know about the problem. Instead they apologized and shipped the roof out right away! Amazing customer service. :ymapplause:
Also I'm not sure who I talked to, but the shingles will be in the mail today. :-bd
Thanks again for the help guys!

Gents...

This goes back to a conversation held here something over a week ago.... I mentioned how word gets around in this hobby and related it to flatulence...... Slim didn't like f..t Dave bailed me out.

It really is not much different that Lowe's and Home Depot........ They all have the same stuff and it costs about the same to turn the lights on ... but we choose one or the other.... why......by how we are treated......

In an era of automation, bar codes, and systematization.... the pendulum is coming back and people are demanding service in trade for turning up in one establishment of another. It is becoming evident that the retailers have figured it out. The one's who refuse will not survive.

The word gets around

Understand the analogy but wrong set of businesses as the two mentioned are really different from a contractors point of view.

I go to Lowe's as there is one in town and no Home Depot. :D Though their saw is always broken when I need a piece of plywood cut.

Reb...

I was not trying to compare Lowe's and Home Depot to this hobby necessarily but only that when everyone sells essentially the same thing, service becomes the last thing that a customer can base decisions upon.

No I was referring to the fact that Lowe's is better generally for certain things like trim work but you need to go to HD for insulation and real lumber but you still need to go to a real lumber store if you need more than a few boards or don't want to dig for straight ones!!!!!!!!!!!!
