Looking for: 0-15 volt dc lab supply w/ digital readout

Looking for: 0-15 volt dc lab supply w/ digital readout

I hope I'm in the right place, as it seems this is the place to ask technical questions. I'm looking for a digital readout dc power supply for experimenting with lights and animations in my dioramas. Low voltage, low amperage. I had one at one time, but must have lost it in one of my many moves in the last 20 years. What do you guys and gals use? I see a few at Amazon under $125 but I have never heard of some of the brands.

As little as $70 for a vellemann if you need a digital readout, old meter types are as little as $40 but then most powerpacks with the addition of a meter will do the same thing.

I suspect part of the problem with the price is the accuracy of the power output. It might be a lot cheaper to 'roll your own' from a power supply, a rheostat and a cheap DC voltmeter, since I suspect you don't need all that much precision.

I'm lazy, I like digital readouts. I was looking at the Velleman. I know nothing about the company, but Radio Shack does sell their products.

If radio shack sells them, then buy it there and if it doesn't work for you, take it back. There are a few advantages to brick and mortar stores!
