I bought a 20' camp trailer last fall under pressure from my wife. I'm now trying to figger out what I need to get set up in that tiny space to do a little building while I wait for her to get up in the morning. BILL

Here's my bench.

I made a video of my room. It's better with the sound off. My floor squeaks and I had a cold. LOL

Dave, neat video! Lots of cool ideas there; seeing your pegboard on the back of your doors got me to thinking of the same thing - all that wasted space! How did you affix the pegboard to the doors? I'm reluctant to drill holes in my doors as they are sort of fancy-schmancy raised panel doors.

Also, regarding your paint spray booth - I've built one very similar to yours. I like your idea of the range grill in the bottom. Another question: Does yours vent out of the back? I couldn't see from the video. I use a 5" diameter computer fan for my venting - works pretty good.

Thanks, Al Carter

Al, I just used screws to attach the pegboard to my doors. I thought about making sort of a bracket that hung over the top, but the doors were sort of messed up anyway.
I built my spray booth a long time ago. The part that looks like a "range gill" is made from metal rods that drop into slots. It makes it really easy to clean. Mine is down draft. I got an explosion proof fan from Granger that has the outlet on the back side.

Another thing with my spray booth, I put on a thick coat of car wax on the inside and don't wipe it off. When it starts getting too much off spray then it wipes off real easy.

I can model anywhere I want , I have been happily unmarried all my life so far ;), and lets face it , if you're not married before you start a model train hobby, you're never going top get married , but thats okay that gives me the modelling budget I think I need and deserve :D

Ah, The Southern California climate!!
My wife made the mistake of putting a couple of chairs out into the garage for "temporary" storage.
I put up a table and went to work. I open the door many afternoons and always on Tuesday and Friday 2pm to 5pm.

the neighbors know and I have had as many as 10 guys, 3 dogs (being "walked") and a cat gathering at a time.
Four are modelers. Sometimes a lot is accomplished with much help and suggestions, but often many of the "problems of the world" are solved.

Pretty funny, Michael. Clever idea, Martin. :-bd When I got "the bug" back in 1981, I used a desk in a spare bedroom (which also housed a 4x8 layout) in our apartment. That desk is now under my airbrush booth in the next room. At our first house I built a cheap table out of countertop and plywood. It has my old office computer on it temporarily.

My present space is a small room tucked between a bathroom (thank goodness I have my own bathroom down here :D ) and the furnace.

Just to the right of the tall cabinet are stairs to the "lower basement" under the garage. It can get chilly down here in the winter, but I have a space heater and between running that for 10 minutes and my computer the room stays warm. I also have this cart where I can do stuff, most recently the scenery for the Yehuda's dio as it's very easy to clean up.

I'm really lucky to have my own space for this stuff.

Dave, thanks for the clarification and additional picture. I line the inside of my booth with white butcher paper, and just replace it occasionally, when it gets to grimy. I see we both use the cheap kitchen lazy susan for a painting surface.... Great minds think alike, eh?
