Jaime, here in Massachusetts the Mass-holes will just barrel on through. To Hell with manners - I'm first and don't you forget it! Move over. Do you know who I am? Don't honk at me or you'll get a middle finger salute.
That's it - woods walking time...
We experienced this "hospitality" out in Pee-bitty back during The EXPO 2011. Jeff Grove drove us to the F&SM and he was kind to let folks over in traffic. Not one Bay Stater waved "thank you" back at us. Out here in The South it is common practice to wave "thank you" when someone lets you into traffic.
I guess it is a good thing we didn't get the local salute of choice after all
In Northern VA we have a mixture of Southern (or Midwestern - most polite place I drive is Pittsburgh*) and Northeastern drivers. Whenever one of the latter, particularly driving some big-assed SUV or truck, tries to intimidate me, I just look at them and say, "You can't scare me. I learned to drive in Mass."
* I see almost as many Steelers stickers here on vehicles as Redskins.
