Rolling Home - A Housetruck

If it isn't a kit, or won't look like it when you're done, then post it here!

Its not the photo, the white is really white. Its the whitest white paint I've ever seen. Its ACE Hardware brand white primer. I'm really liking this stuff. It looks just as good as if it was airbrushed, which I think is unusual coming from a 'rattle can'. Its really surprising to me that it didn't blur any of the details on the Vector Cut stuff.
I thought about weathering all the white a little bit, but I decided to leave it the way it is for a little while and see what happens. Its a lot easier to add it later then it is to remove it.

Neat build Dave.

A very interesting little project, and a real eye catcher. I'm sure it would be a slow journey in that house truck. I don't think it would take too much speed for the wind to rip that roof off, or much of a bump to smash that back trellis! Best tell the flower power people to keep the speed down on their way to San Fransisco!

Cheers, Mark.

You're probably right about getting any speed out of a house truck. I did base the model on a 1:1 truck.

I made a slide show of the build too. It's pretty cool to watch the whole model come together in 2 minutes.

Thanks! The firewall where I work hates my pictures too. I have no idea why.
I made a slideshow for my tug boats too.

Back in the late 50s, my grandfather built a homemade topper for his 1953 Chevy pickup. We rode in the back a lot including a round trip from here in Iowa to Texas. Speeds were slow but travel wasn't all that fast even in a car. Remember that there were no superhighways back then. Regular highways like US 30 (Lincoln Highway) went through the middle of countless small towns and it was pretty easy to get stuck behind a truck that had to slow way down to make it up a hill.
