But you are right. Nowadays eBay is nothing more than a storefront for many businesses.

I kinda like that the FSM kit didn't go for more then the retail price, keeps some people from buying such kits as an investment and therefore speeding uo the sold out process.

E-bay is great for some things, but it takes time to get a bargain. The real problem with e-bay now is they don't charge for listing an item so you get people trying to get a certain price with not penalty for being overpriced. Wish they would start a place on e-bay with true auctions. things starts at 99cents with no reserve and let the cards fall where they will!

I just put a few misc train listings on ebay. Didn't realize they charge 9% now. Haven't sold anything on there in a long time. Also haven't mailed anything in awhile and was surprised by shipping costs for flat rate items. No wonder the post office is going out of business!

Steve, They now charge 9% on BOTH the item and the shipping. Plus you will pay about 3% on Both for Paypal, so figure 12% of total revenue. Truthfully its not bad when you consider there is no real alternative. How about a link to what you are selling, we may want to get some of your stuff...

A lot of other sites are touted but the only site that makes me feel confortable is e-bay. I like their Paypal and have used their protection only once, when someone tried to scam me. I even got my shipping back and he was pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I frequently get offers from eBay to list items for free. However, the offer is only usually valid for a day and the notice comes in like 2 days prior.

We have a swap section here in the forum. RR-line does too. Those are alternatives.

From there you should be able to look at the rest in the see other items link. It's not much. Just that built sawmill I found in one of the boxes I got from the estate sale, a MRC Tech 4 controller, the bass and plastic, and the rest of the N scale stuff I had.

Steve if you would send the N-scale lot to the Netherlands, what would shipping be? I know that Germans still use a lot of rapido couplers, so if shipping is not too expensive I would bid on them, mind you you might get a bid from the US , but not many.
