New guy from Colorado

Postby Thunder » Mon Apr 02, 2012 10:49 pm

I've been a Model Railroader, off & on for about 30 years now. Each and every layout has come to some sort of an end, usually due to a move. With life being quite busy the past 12 years, building both a house and a company, while raising a Daughter and her Mother, life has finally taken a turn for the better now. The Daughter & Mother are both gone, so now I FINALLY get to build a layout or two...

I've recently been bitten by the Narrow Guage bug so my new layout takes me in that direction. A fictional three foot railroad with ties to a few of the better known Colorado roads. How else can I justify a Galloping Goose?

At any rate, its built using "N" guage track and rolling stock. As I'm going through boxes which have been stashed away for the above mentioned 12 years, I'm finding things that I didnt even know I had. Lots of things have changed in the hobby too, and I'm not just talking about my eyesight either. Have you seen those tiny wheelsets, and the super tiny couplers that go with them? I think you get the picture. And I've got a lot of catching up to do.

See ya' on the high rails...

Welcome aboard. Using N scale you can go two ways do a HO-n30 using the N scale track and running gear or use Z scale track and do Nn3.
There are Yahoo groups for both also so check them out. I stock the ASPEN MODELS line of Nn3 engines and have a few Geese in stock also check out
Republic Locomotive works. HOn3 is mostly scratch building for motive power.
IF you can make it in September the Narrow Gauge convention is in Seattle this year about as close to you as it will be for a few years. Great show
and lots going on. See you there if you can make it.
As for the eyesite it's all in the mind. The smallest part is the same size in all scales.
In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame,
two is a law firm and three or more is a congress.
