Greetings. I was here Jimmy but didn't want to hog up being the first to start a thread, so I added a photo to my Roxbury Roofing thread instead. And I think it was me who was trying to log into Doug's site. I tried every password that I ever used in my life to log in, but it refused me. So I sent Doug a nasty e-mail and he said that you were screwing around with his site and that it may never be the same again..... :D Actually he said what you said, and Presto! in 30 seconds I was back. Now I need to order something. Dave, will you be posting progress shots of the module, or keep us in suspense until the Expo? Enjoy the day everybody.

Good morning Tuesday

Postby NEMMRRC » Tue Apr 10, 2012 7:11 am

A magnolia tree.

I don't believe I've ever seen one modeled on a layout. Magnolias can grow to large dimensions. Their root system loves to expand above ground. They tear up your yard, driveway, sidewalk, etc. However, the magnolia blooms are pretty and very large.

I better study up on Frary's module design since I'm hauling one to the EXPO for Runner to display his Twin Mills and Railroad Camp and Scrap Yard and anything else he can cram on 2 ft by 4 ft. I hear there is no height limit so the sky's the limit on this puppy.

Morning, all.
I think Doug has the free kit offers because he knows I just can't pass them up. Now to decide which kit to order to get the free one...

Have not done much since aquiring my New toy, a 1965 VW pickup which as usual has had some issues considering its age , kind of like me. Anyway have a good a day and post a picture because we like them Scott H.

Great news mecrr22, now we have three admitted air heads, ranny, mecrr22 and roughneck. This is not structure related but did you know there is a huge VW show this weekend here in Daytona, the NO Dough Bus Show! Bugs, busses and water cooled welcome, no charge. We will be there with our 1966 bus/truck. Lots of info on The Samba dot com. PM me if you would like to send a picture, I'd love to see it.

Modules for the structure show sounds like fun. King Dave and Bob H. made the regs for the HOn30 module group and we still enjoy them today. Will not be getting involved with this build but have been thinking about something small for ON30. Built two freight cars and the size is cool. Too many things to do when retired. :D Not enough time. :o

Jaime, I'm looking forward to Dave's "Illustrated Guide". I'm busy tearing out all of the code 55, code 70, and code 83 hand laid track so that it can be replaced by the Atlas code 100. Will turnouts be allowed from the two mainline tracks? Does the 40" to rail height allow for roadbed? Why am I asking these questions- the "Illustrated Guide" will probably tell us.

I will probably drive all of the dioramas and structures to Graceland in a rental van, then we can slap them on the module and drive to PA. Is your new car big enough?

As you can see I am working on the first batch of castings for the module- you can't have too many for one of these deals.

First, yes, there will be a contest, errr... "Challenge!." I've got that on my list of things to do. I haven't forgotten. I'm behind on orders, I have two shows coming up (Timonium & Ottawa... as in Canada :-o ) - I'm in the middle of a DVD, and I have new kits coming out. Did I mention this kit making company thing is just a hobby to keep me busy?

Yesterday we rolled out Fos Scale Models new website. I say "we" because I helped Doug with it. It's a project that took over two month's to get finished. Yesterday he got a few orders for kits without any hiccups... except for I think one customer who may have been trying to sign in with his/her old website password? This is a totally new site and will require that you register again, but it only takes about 30 seconds. Everyone seems to be buying $50 worth of kits to be eligible for the free "Slim Sartore'"s kit, Surprisingly, nobody is asking for different signs to name it "Fat Jimmy's"

Hey Bill... Maybe this kit should have a light package?

JimmyD
Hobbies can become businesses too easy!!!!! Glad you beat me to the punch on one of your aquired companies and glad I got beat out on another project I had well on the way for some car kits!!!!!!!
