All,

While I do mot like this years kit design,
I do think it is still Up to all other FSM standards.
As for Mold lines I do not see any.,And if I did it is a casting and you need to remove, that is what modeling is all about.

George.
Keep up the Great Work
If it was not for you we would not have Craftsmen Kits

Thanks

Kind of reminds me of a "poor man's" Chippy Hollow Hardware. That said, I like it and I'll definitely get one this fall.
Cheers.

Is this one of those kits where you can change the sign, change the business? From Roth's to a cannery, or a manufacturing building, is the design pliable enough for new names? Maybe a dairy.

Hi bob:

I'd say you can make it into whatever you want it to be. That's the nice thing about modeling.

Good point. But that's keeping in George's style. Like a Thomas Kinkaid painting with light gushing out of every [freakin']window. Personally, I like the back side of the diorama better than the front. I like the stone casting for the waterwheel bearing for example. The front has too darn much going on. IMHO.

Long horn caddy:

George wasn't at css09- I had the same idea about picking up a kit at the show- and i don't think I saw him as one of the vendors this year (kinda bummed me out, I didn't see Bar Mills there either, and I wanted to save money on shipping, also! Ha Ha!!!)- Do you think he will be selling them at his layout tour?

George had kits for sale at last years's open house during CSS. You'll have pay MA sales tax though. I believe 5%.

Just another point - I suppose you could build this into a present day roadside boutique store. The kind of place that sells homey, Early American type decor(made in China), candy, fudge - you probably get the point. The other castings can always be used for different projects. No rule says you have to build it the same way George did.

You mean the kind of store that sells boiled peanuts on the side of the road?
