Get the 3rd edition. It's pretty much a complete rewrite.

Just purchased at CSS yesterday and can't wait to watch it when I get home - saw the preview of it at Dave's booth. Looks great!

Day did a backdrop in one of the premium clinics (by Chris Lyon), in about 2 hours, and is jazzed about painting the backdrop and starting on scenery, so I will add my kudos to another great DVD.

Picked up this new DVD on the weekend at the local train show for $35 CAD (tax incl.).
Dave (and Doug) makes it all look so easy...

Also have the 2nd edition of Dave's scenery manual; an excellent instructional text.

I can't wait to watch this latest DVD from Dave. It sounds like it is great. I'm pretty new to the hobby so I'm sure that there will be lots of things in it for me. I really love the way that Dave makes it seem so easy! He is a wealth of model railroading knowledge.
