FSM on the PVTC.....

If it isn't a kit, or won't look like it when you're done, then post it here!

Some would argue that it is some sort of heresy to actually build one............. like stretching out one's time in purgatory or something.

I built the engine house shown below years ago and then went back and put an interior in it. The house is removable so as to be able to see into it.

!968, that would make it the one with the lousy windows, I have the later one but alas it was mostly built when I got it but well done unlike some other build starts I have bought.

Yes they used a silk screen paint on a celluloid sheet. They never stayed very flat but I never used a distilate glue on celluloid so I've never had a problem with shrinking or warping.

I guess I have never paid attention to later builds. I'll have to watch for what windows they use.

I suppose that I could get frames from Tichy or Grandt but it is sorta cool just the way it is.

One of the reasons I never aquired the real early FSM kits if the included windows. Some of the other manufactures had some out of scale windows but I don't mind that as much as sometimes true scale in HO is hard to work with without breaking.

Rusty Stumps make some absolutely beautiful laser cut replacment windows for this engine house. I purchased some for when I scratchbuild one. But, I think first I will go ahead and build the Engine house that is in my John Allen special. I really hope I can start on that at the end of November. Too much layout work going on now.

Good to know, I didn't know anyone made replacement windows for early FSM kits!

Jeff,

I didn't see Roadside Delights in any of those photos.
