One of the vendors that has always intrigued me is Ragg's... to Riches? (their name alone is cause for curiosity) They had their new kit, Rose-Walsh Smelter, on display at their booth. It is a very large kit.

I've seen the Ragg's folks at the narrow gauge conventions and at previous CSSs. I don't know much about their kits and I honestly cannot recall having identified one of their kits on a layout I've visited. Nevertheless, they show up at the shows and display lots of stuff.

I made several photos of their new kit but because it is so large I had to get in a lot of the background in the shots. That kinda took away from the kit since the background was the convention floor. So, I cropped as much out of the convention floor as I could and still get enough of the kit in the frame. That is part of the challenge for me at these conventions. I want to make the best photo I can make given the situation I find myself in at the convention floor.

Anyway, the Ragg's folks were very nice and allowed me to go behind their booth and take photos of the display from all sides without having to move the diorama. I was a little apprehensive because I did not want to bump anything of theirs or the neighboring vendors. The last thing I want to do is ruin somebody's work while I am trying to make a photo. That would be really bad news.

Here is my best effort.

Here is what an uncropped version of one of the photos looks like.

The Raggs to Riches kit was impressive, of a prototype installation that I don't think has ever been done as a kit before.

I managed to stop by the table of the folks at Laser Modeling 3. They are fairly new kit makers but already have several great looking kits.

Here are some photos:

The Raggs folks are closing up shop. Any kits left in their inventory are the last of their kits. They were present at the 2012 NNGC in Seattle and were even selling the prototype dioramas of their kits. If any want one of their kits, you need to hurry up and buy it.
