This is an issue we had with the Hub Modular group - the fire marshall at some venue wanted confirmation that our skirts had been treated to be fire retardant. This might not be a big thing at home with a cotton skirt, but I know some of the synthetic fabrics will burn scary fast when not treated - one of the early consumer safety issues was kids pjs being made with these fabrics...

Some fire marshals are mini dictators and make people do things that make no sense, most do their jobs luckily. Since the lizard dose not allow smoking around his layout I am sure it will be fine.

No smoking anywhere!

I am a very militant non smoker, so no smoking around me anywhere. I fought with my late Mother almost daily, but she never listened and small cell lung cancer (caused by smoking) got her. So far our son has avoided it (I'll kill him if he does) but a lot of his friends a now doing it. Idiots!

The cloth is nowhere near wiring. I would be more concerned about the styrofoam, than the cloth but I have taken care in wiring.

Foam is not as flammable as some would make out, even the white beaded stuff I use. I researched all that with forensic fire people (not the field amateurs).

You should read what they have to say about your typical local fire investigators.

Reb - the problem with the foam isn't flammability - it's the toxic gases that are released when it melts / burns. I'm not a saftey ninny here, I use foam too and I'm not scared of it. Just tryin' to stay with the facts (ma'am).

No, what I am talking about is a certain video out there where they were able to burst the whole thing into flame to scare people away from white beaded foam, not an easy thing to do but if you try hard enough! Yes the fumes can be bad after 468 degrees if my memory is correct (why I mainly use a WS foam wire foam cutter, only gets to 425, as you can see I do a lot of research).

Craig, your right about the foam gases. I bought a WS foam cutter, then never used it because of the fumes that might be omitted. It was impractical to take pieces outside to cut, then down the basement.
